Three on-trend interior styles for Christmas. No. 2 - The English Country Cottage

On the second day of Christmas...

Nothing says ‘Christmas’ quite like a traditional English country cottage.

Packed with character and charm, it really is very easy to see why it’s such a favourite.

Complete with inglenook, fireplace or wood burning stove, the English country cottage Christmas theme exudes warmth and personality.

Mantles are often adorned with twinkling lights, candle filled lanterns, knitted red and white stockings and a homemade garland.

Christmas trees are flamboyant and often taken centre stage. You really couldn’t’ ask for a more perfect festive setting.

The mandatory Christmas wreath hangs on the front door, made from mistletoe, holly and twisted willow, welcoming friends and family.

Red check, gingham and tartan feature heavily on curtains, throws, cushions, upholstery and ribbons. Dried cones, cranberry's and twisted fir garlands decorate staircases, wreaths and tree's.

Table settings are inkeepingly rustic with grain sack style red and white striped runners and place mats, rosemary and ribbon wrapped napkins and bay, holly and wood centre pieces.

Traditional festive red plays a significant part in the overall colour scheme and is used in abundance.

Cosy, comforting and very very jolly.
